  • Dr. Sam Rizk was recently featured in Surgical Aesthetics to discuss how surgeons are seeing advantages as they move from traditional osteotomes to powered microsaws for rhinoplasty. He discusses how the microsaw gives a much more natural result while decreasing the bruising and trauma commonly found in other rhinoplasty procedures. This procedure is mostly beneficial for evenly reducing bumps of bone and cartilage on the nasal bridge. The high vibration won’t cause any damage on soft tissue, however, when placed on bone or fixed cartilage, it will begin to shave and refine any irregularities.
