The techniques used to perform rhinoplasty on Middle Eastern patients often differ from those used on other patients.
Many Middle Eastern noses have a droopy nasal tip that can make the nose appear elongated. This is because Middle Eastern patients often have insufficient cartilage support in the tip. As a result, Middle Eastern nose jobs often focus on lifting the nasal tip.
It is also common for a Middle Eastern nose to have a high dorsum or hump. If so, the rhinoplasty techniques used may focus on reducing the bridge.
In some cases the rhinoplasty surgeon may narrow the nostrils.
The thickness of the nasal skin is also an important factor in determining which techniques to perform on Middle Eastern Patients.
Dr. Rizk assesses each patient to determine what role each of these anatomical features plays in the overall aesthetic harmony of the facial features. Ultimately, he will want to alter the nose as needed to sharpen the patient’s features in such a way that it preserves the patient’s unique ethnic characteristics.

To achieve natural looking results, it is very important that Middle Eastern patients locate a rhinoplasty surgeon with extensive experience performing ethnic rhinoplasty — specifically ethnic rhinoplasty. This is because the Middle Eastern nose differs from other noses in several ways.
Many Middle Eastern noses have a high dorsum and droopy nasal tip that makes the nose appear longer. To achieve natural looking results, it is often necessary to reduce a nasal hump, lift the nasal tip, correct the droopiness in the tip and/or narrow the nostrils.
One of the primary goals of a Middle Eastern nose job is often to give the nose a more aesthetically pleasing profile. The goal of all rhinoplasty procedures is to create symmetry and harmony with the other facial features. With Middle Eastern and other non-Caucasian patients this means changing the shape of the nose in a way that refines and preserves their unique ethnic characteristics.
